So just like everything else in todays world. Its a half truth or less.
Im on Maui. I checked for days three locations before coming as to wind strength as its expensive to travel with gear.
Windfinder says daily 12-20mph its actually 10mph more on average. I mentioned this to locals and they told me "its a joke always add at least 10mph to what they have listed"
So why not have a real time reading? Because that would require an effort and expense. Another scam online. Good thing I didnt pay off this. I can guess all by myself.
